ADVANCING THE KINGDOM
Legal in the Kingdom of God
Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit,
he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
-John 3:5
The Kingdom of God is the heavenly, sovereign government of every “born again” believer. In the Kingdom, there are no illegal immigrants! Illegal means unlawful, not sanctioned by the official government; immigrant means one that migrates from one government to another government. To migrate is to change residence for the purpose of feeding and or breeding. Migrators do not pay tithes! They only feed, breed, and leave!
The only way we can legally leave the kingdom of darkness – which belongs to Satan, and enter the Kingdom of God is to have a blood bought, blood stamped passport issued by Jesus Christ and to be “born of water and Spirit.” Beware of illegal immigrants in the church who come to “feed and breed” in the house of God – they are doing so as unlawful, unsanctioned church members. In John 3:5, Jesus told Nicodemus, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” To be legal in God’s government requires regeneration. Regeneration is the theological term for being born into the family of God. Born into God’s family is greater than salvation.
Salvation in the Old Testament was deliverance from physical bondage (see Exodus 14:13 as an example of Old Testament deliverance). In the New Testament, salvation is deliverance from sin, sickness/disease, eternal death (damnation) and demonic bondage. According to Vine’s Expository Dictionary, salvation is the Greek work “soteria” – which means “temporal deliverance from danger and apprehension.” Temporal is temporary – lasting for a limited time. Sneaking back (backsliding) to the old government (kingdom of darkness) - the old way of life is much too easy for those poor souls who never begin the process of sanctification. Sanctification is a process (past, present, and future) and renews the whole person (body, soul, and spirit.) 1 Thessalonians 5:23 states, “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” In essence, Salvation gets you on your way to the Kingdom – Sanctification cleans you up (and keeps you clean) for the Kingdom - Regeneration lets you in the Kingdom!
Let’s clear up a misunderstanding in the body of Christ. Salvation alone will not let you see or enter the Kingdom of God. Notice that Jesus told Nicodemus, who was Jewish, that he must be “born again” – not that he must be “saved.” The Jews were already “saved” – they were the “delivered, set apart” people. Yet, with all their “salvation,” it was still not enough for them to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus said so! God’s people had to receive a new nature and a new life. It is only when you are born of God’s spirit that you are legally placed in the Kingdom of God.
Lord Jesus, have mercy upon us. We pray today for the “illegal immigrants” in the church, and ask that the power of the Holy Spirit will grasp them and loose the bonds of ignorance in their lives to experience victory over a life of sin and victory over the world. May Your true church members become “New Birthers” and not “Migrators.” In Jesus’ name. Amen.
